Landmark Consumer Protections in Wall Street Reform Package Approved in House-Senate Conference Committee 12/31/1969
Responding to the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, a House-Senate conference committee approved strong legislation to rein in Wall Street and protect consumers, investors, and taxpayers from further financial meltdowns on Friday. The legislation is expected to be approved this week on both floors and sent to the President by the 4th of July.
