Call your senator today to urge support for Gov. Doyle's RTA proposal
Gov. Jim Doyle has a proposal to create regional transportation authorities (RTAs), which would help provide stable funding for transit and empower communities across the state to expand local transportation options. His proposal could bring exciting new transportation projects in cities across the state one step closer to reality.
But rumor has it that state legislators might prevent this proposal from going forward on Thursday. We need your voices to advance a 21st century transportation system!
Please call the legislative hotline at 1-800-362-9472 to get your senator's telephone number. When you call, here's what you can say:
"Wisconsin must move toward a new transportation future that enhances our economy, environment, public health, national security and quality of life. Please support the governor's RTA proposal in A.B. 75, and in addition support language in A.B. 75 that will permit Wisconsin's communities not covered in the Governor's budget to form RTAs with the authority to levy a sales tax of up to 0.5 percent."
Then let us know you called by filling out the form below.
