Petition For a Cell Phone Users Bill Of Rights

More and more consumers are complaining about their cell phone service, quality and billing errors. Urge the state legislature to pass the cell phone users' bill of rights.

Cell phones companies should provide customers with convenience and high quality telephone service. Instead, too many cell phone customers have experienced dropped calls, poor service coverage, confusing billing statements, and customer service representatives who are unable to correct or solve identified errors. I urge you to pass a cell phone user's bill of rights which would require wireless carriers to improve disclosure of rates and fees, contract terms, and wireless coverage area; provide recourse to consumers to resolve billing disputes and errors; and calls for less restrictive contract terms like a risk-free trial period to test a phone and service and the elimination of long term contracts.
